World Peace Day
“Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding”
On 21st September, 2021 students of grades 1 & 2, all dressed in white clothes honoring peace and purity, formed the human peace symbol on the turf. The human formation of the peace symbol, came to life with the presence of our spirited students as they stood together in congruence and a perfect concord.
The morning circle time saw them going abuzz as they reflected on ‘what is peace to them’. It was thrilling to see them internalizing their own thoughts to state their notion of peace. A few of them thoughtfully answered- peace is ‘the kindness’ we give to others.
Our students were delighted to be greeted by the Principal, Ms. Ambika Gulati and the Vice Principal, Ms. Lini Shivaprasad and were excited to get their pictures clicked with them at the “Peace Booth”.
The dove, bird of peace, adorned the corridors of the primary section and one of the display boards, made every passerby think, “What can you do to promote peace”?
From teachers to students, both junior and senior, were seen writing their reflections on post its and pinned them on the interactive display board.
Peace can mean different things to different people, but one thing is common….everyone wants peace.
