Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award

Since 2008, the students of The Millennium School have been the proud recipients of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance and the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence in the distinguished student category. Our families have been the proud recipients of the Distinguished Family Award too.

The awards validate the fact that the school provides a challenging and stimulating learning environment that fosters 21st century skills and values.

Sana Feroz won the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for distinguished academic excellence 2020.

 

The Sharjah Award for Excellence in Education

The Sharjah Award for Excellence in Education is instituted by the Sharjah Ruler Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi for recognizing outstanding achievers in academics and co-curricular activities, with specific emphasis on leadership and innovation.

Sean Sanoop George (Grade 7) and Dheepika Nair (Grade 6), were presented with the Sharjah Award on 1st May, 2019.

 




BATTLE OF THE BANDS

The students of Grade 11 participated in the Battle of the Bands held at GEMS Wellington Academy, Dubai Silicon Oasis. There were 16 bands from 12 schools. Our team won the coveted title of Most Original Performance.

STEAM CARNIVAL

STEAM

Three teams from our school participated in the STEAM CARNIVAL for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. The students of Grade 10 designed the DOGBOT and won the BEST PROJECT bagging a 3D printer for the school. The ‘Millennial Circuit Breakerz’ won under the Grade 6 Category. The Grade 8 students presented their project ECOBOT.

DYNADOOR & THE SOLAR SHADE PROJECT

The DYNADOOR project developed by our boys was a true example of creativity and innovation as the prototype revealed the ability of any door to harness the energy of its movement from mechanical to electric energy that could be stored in a grid.

SOLAR SHADE project devised methods to use solar panels and piezoelectric sensor to produce more energy and replace some amount of electricity drawn from the power grid by our school.

TECHNO TALENT FEST

Ramya Singh of Grade 5C won the first place in Movie Making on the Topic “Food Chain Rapper” at the Techno Talent Fest. 47 schools participated. The competition was a display of the innovative and logical dexterity of budding minds, bringing out critical thinking and reasoning skills of aspiring students.

GLOBAL INNOVATION CHALLENGE

Archie Parekh, Maathangi Anirudh, Sachin Saravanan & Samarth Chandna were the inventors of the Automated Histopathology Operating Software (APOS). APOS is a software which seeks revolutionise microscopic diagnosis, especially in the field of histopathology by making it not only more efficient in terms of diagnosis, but by also making it the most affordable technology made to eliminate the problem of lack of specialised doctors and pathologists in developing or rural areas of the world. Click on the link to view more about the project. The team made it to the top 10 rpm among 1500 entrepreneurs from the GIC. The team also presented their project at the Science symposium held at the Emirates Aviation College, Dubai.

YOUNG INNOVATOR - EXPO 2020

Samrin Saleem, Nashita Afza Syed, Sakshi Mestry and Ruchika Jawahar devised a solution to put a permanent end to this issue – HOTCARS. They created a prototype that will help revolutionize the safety and security of pets and children. Their project is displayed in the main pavilion at the Expo.

The Pride of Abu Dhabi Award

The Pride of Abu Dhabi Awards is the community award that celebrates the people and companies of Abu Dhabi. Created by the Abu Dhabi World magazine, the awards pay tribute to those who work across various fields from education and events to charity and hospitality. There were 15 categories of awards with 400 nominees. Sean Sanoop George, Student of Grade 7A, bagged the Young Achiever of the Year 2019 title.

SHEIKHA FATIMA AWARD

GEMS Education honoured 41 female students in the UAE with the prestigious Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Excellence. Sara Ansari is the recipient of The Sheikha Fatima Award for Excellence 2020 from TMS.

KGS INTER-SCHOOL MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Primary school won the coveted KGS Inter- School Music Rolling Trophy along with awards for best costumes and best choir.
